Drawing Tube / Camera Lucida originally made for Motic K500/700 microscopes, but custom modified to fit Wild and Leica M-series microscopes (except for the M5/M5A - see the M1508.4). It attaches between the head and the optics carrier, and when engaged, will superimpose the image from the drawing surface to the microscope eyepiece allowing for tracing of the specimen. Note that some customers who have never used a drawing tube before often expect this to project an image onto the paper, but that is not how these work. The image of the drawing surface is superimposed onto the image of the specimen when looking through the microscope. The user will observe the specimen through the microscope and will see a ghost image of their hand, pencil and paper. It is important to balance the lighting carefully between the specimen and the drawing surface. The image to the left shows the M1508.3 attached to a Leica M60 (not included).
